ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, was felicitated by Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, Goa in the esteemed presence of the State Cabinet and Chief Secretary, during the Seva Pakhwada celebrations held at Kala Academy, Panaji today.
The recognition was bestowed on ICAR-CCARI for its outstanding contributions in promoting Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and strengthening convergence between ICAR and the Government of Goa. This collaborative effort has played a vital role in advancing grassroots entrepreneurship, empowering farmer collectives, and fostering inclusive agricultural development in the state.
Through initiatives under ICAR schemes and centrally sponsored programmes such as the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME), ICAR-CCARI has extended support to rural women, farmer-led enterprises, and agri-entrepreneurs across Goa. These interventions have facilitated the creation of sustainable value chains, expanded income-generating opportunities, and enhanced resilience within the farm sector.
The institute’s proactive role in building strong linkages with government departments, SHGs, and FPOs has been instrumental in strengthening livelihoods and aligning with the vision of Swayampurna Goa and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
