About the Division
The International Relations (IR) Division at ICAR Headquarters, New Delhi, manages the Council's engagement with foreign governments, research organisations, universities and international bodies. Set up in 2014, the Division acts as a single window between the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), the subject-matter divisions of ICAR, and ICAR institutes and agricultural universities.
DARE holds the Government of India's mandate for international cooperation in agricultural research and education. It is the nodal department for government-to-government agreements and manages India's contributions to international bodies such as CGIAR, CABI, APAARI etc. ICAR signs institution-level agreements and carries out cooperation through its network of 114 institutes and 80 agricultural universities. The IR Division works closely with the International Cooperation Section of DARE on both.
