ICAR-Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Chennai, to foster collaborative research, academic cooperation, and capacity-building initiatives in the field of floriculture and allied sciences.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr. K. V. Prasad, Director, ICAR-DFR, and Dr. S. Ponnusamy, Registrar, SRMIST, in the presence of Dr. M. Jawaharlal, Dean, SRM College of Agricultural Sciences.

ICAR-DFR is a premier national institute engaged in research, education, extension, and capacity development in floriculture and landscaping. SRMIST is one of India’s leading multi-disciplinary universities, with over 52,000 full-time students and more than 3,200 faculty members across its campuses, including a strong focus on agricultural sciences.
This strategic partnership aims to provide mutual benefits to both institutions. Students from SRMIST will gain exposure to advanced research infrastructure and scientific mentorship at ICAR-DFR, while DFR faculty will leverage the academic ecosystem and infrastructural support of SRMIST to enhance their collaborative endeavors.
As a part of this collaboration, three postgraduate students from SRMIST will begin their research work at ICAR-DFR, Pune, from the current academic year.
