Over the past two decades, ICAR’s initiatives to institutionalize the IP ecosystem and promote agri-business development have resulted in the protection of more than 5,000 innovations through various forms of intellectual property rights (IPRs). More than 2,000 innovations have been transferred to over 3,000 public- and private-sector organizations, with their reach extending across all States and Union Territories of India. In addition, ICAR’s Agri-Business Incubation Centres have supported 1,500 start-ups in establishing and developing agri-based enterprises.
